Images of Hinckley

A selection of photographs of our hometown, Hinckley in the Midlands.

These photographs were taken on a sunny Saturday morning outside the NatWest bank. Paul was in the bank dealing with the mundane money matters whilst I was left outside, with Poggie and a camera, to play!

So, I decided to build a little database and a few pages to allow me to upload this handful of photos and the ability to add to them whenever I get a chance. This could develop into a family-sized album in time!

If you click on the thumbnails on the left, a larger image will display here...and don't worry, there are no frames to worry about. It's just one of those cool CSS hide/show tricks...:)

The script does use JavaScript for the hide/show element, but there is an alternative built in for those who have JavaScript disabled so everyone can have a mooch if it takes their fancy!

Hinckley Bus Rally!

Blue Skies over Hollycroft!

Blue Skies over Hollycroft!

These clouds were absolutely amazing...almost like clean fire smoke!

They rolled over our houses and were gone within about 20 minutes - although it was reasonably calm down here, it was obviously pretty breezy up there!

Believe it or not, we have TWO of these unhealthy spots in Hinckley - we also have a drive in on the Northern Perimeter Ring Road.

Buses are allowed in the pedestrian area although some days it looks like a bus rally! Same old story...you can wait half an hour for a bus and then 3 roll up together!

One of the places we visit with Poggie is Burbage Common and Woods and because it is such a large open area, there are some awesome sunsets to be found there.

This was taken around 8pm one late summer evening.
